Owned and operated by award-winning homebrewer Alex Buerckholtz and his wife Melissa, our store grew out of Alex's love for the art and process of crafting beer. West Asheville, without a specialty beer store of its own, was the perfect place for Alex to create his vision of a store with everything from PBR to French Burgundies to organic malt extract. The three elements of beer, wine and homebrewing are a natural complement. Homebrewers can find the latest craft beer or wine lovers can experiment with their own creations. Hops & Vines gives customers a unique opportunity to learn more about their favorite styles not just by tasting, but also by creating.
